Assistance for family caregivers who are caring for their relative's children

Intake Procedure
(1) The caregiver should call the DCFS hotline at 1-800-252-2873. Tell them that you are caring for your relativeâs child, the child is not being abused or neglected but you want help, and you want to be referred to the Extended Family Support Program. (2) Visit https://dcfs.illinois.gov/loving-homes/grandparents-and-older-caregivers-raising-children.html or email the EFSP coordinator at DCFS.EFSP.Coordinator@illinois.gov for more information.
